Revelation 13:2 says that the dragon gives its power to this beast.
Revelation 20:2 identifies the dragon as Satan.
666 = evil.

Stuff I read yesterday about 666:
Revelations 13:18 says: This calls for wisdom: let him who has understanding reckon the number of the beast, for it is a human number, its number is six hundred and sixty-six. (The beast being the Antichrist, according to many apocalypic theories).

Some scholars believe the "beast" is a coded reference, using Hebrew letters for numbers, for the despotic Roman emperor Nero, and 616 appears instead of 666 in some ancient manuscripts.

Other 666 trivia: With biblical coding, 666 also is the number for the WWW of the World Wide Web. 666 is the sum of all the numbers on a roulette wheel. Supposedly, 666 is on every bar code on groceries, but I only see one 6 on the bag of Baked Lays I'm eating right now [;)]
