The Hub...Slow as *@#!

Discuss hard-to-find or out-of-print New Wave and '80s Alternative, and share a few songs along the way.
NOTE: requesting songs that are entirely unrelated to the genres discussed here or easily found on CD is strongly discouraged and posts will be enforced as needed.

<br>Actually, I wasn't so much bitching about the hub as just trying to see if there is something wrong with my setting - as it apparently appears to be. In fact, of the few songs it has maneged to download, hey are all cut off at some point in the song. Maybe its a mac-connection thing, like I'm not using the latest P2P software version because I'm not on Tiger...

Are you on Shakespeer or the Direct Connect PC port? If the latter, that's pretty stinky. Shakespeer though is usually very stable. I also notice the Mac folks' connections jumping on and off a lot less than some DC++ folks.

All I know is that I'm one happy camper, having gotten Novo Combo's S/T and Animation Generation albums off MikeP last night. Thanks Miguel! Speed was about 65kB so he prolly had a 512kb UP speed connection...better than normal but again, 384kb is typical. Also again, if anyone else is interested: hub_invite(at)hotmail.com

...Ack! Right. Latest Shakespeer is Tiger only. Well, I highly recommend the upgrade. Pre 10.4 is really pretty stinky now with dwindling support for Safari, iLife components, etc.
