<br>"Charlie Don't Surf" is The Clashes greatest? You gotta be F-ing kidding me...

There must have been voting irregularities, I call for a recount!
[/quote]
You're like my friends who gripe about Nazi Joe Leiberman getting reelected yet not bothering to vote themselves. Hey, people weren't happy about Richard Hatch or GW either, but shit happens when you have an ill-informed electorate. [}:)]

It just goes to show that it only takes a few knuckleheads to screw things up for everyone. But that's the American way!

Richard Hatch I could live with. But Reuben Studdard winning over Clay Aiken, that really hurt.

PS Do you think Lieberman will be limited in his ability to be an effective Nazi seeing as he's Jewish and all?

It's ironic but not impossible. Besides, I'd have to use my Uberman x-ray vision to confirm.

Man, my head is just spinning - London Calling, Train in Vain, Police on My Back, all booted early.

I'm afraid to look, but was Up in Heaven on the list?

I know, you have to play the game before you complain. I didn't think it was fair of me to boot songs I didn't know early on & then my favorites were gone.

I'm also aware that when I started these things I said "no incessant bitching about what's been booted," but I have low impulse control.

Anyways Blir, it would be cool to see you or Marv do a New Order one!

But that's kinda the beauty of the method isn't it? It sparks conversation and rancor.

And who the hell wants to hear about more New Order. I like this format for that tier of bands that don't get enough mention here.

BTW, any mention of Culture Club is "enough" mention. [xx(]

Charlie Don't Surf is the greatest Clash song ? I would of picked Rebel Waltz ( not even on the list ) over Surfin' Charlie. My # 1 pick would of been White Man in Hammersmith Palace .

Altho some of my faves were eliminated early on, and I didn't even get to vote (no time to), I LOVE "Charlie Don't Surf" tons ! Awesome song, signature Clash politics.
Love it!

Charlie Don't Surf is a top 10 by the Clash but the elimination of some of the best Clash songs early was shocking! It was a democratic process, so be it! My only real disappointment was the exclusion of What's My Name as one of the choices. Great Clash song. Might be my personal favorite by them.

My faves were already all gone! The last three are good songs, but not their best.
