I'm not embarrased by anything I listen to. Either I have excellent taste in music, or no shame. Don't know which.

I used to say I wasn't ashamed of what I listen to. But then I loaded Nickelback and White Snake into iTunes playlist over the weekend. Please, someone save me ... [:D]

Whitesnake's forgivable if only for the cheese factor. Nickelback on the other hand, ugh [xx(]. Still, it could be a lot worse. If you get the urge to hear any John Mayer or Five For Fighting, let me know. I'll be on the next flight for an intervention. [:D]

Stars by Simply Red... I do feel guilty about liking it but can't help it... is such a nice song.
I do love Madonna's Ray Of Light album but I've feel no guilt about liking it... the production in that album is excellent and the lyrics are the best ones among Madonna's albums.

<p align="justify">That's not a guilty pleasure, her voice packs a wallop. Funny, one of the reasons I liked Anastasia is because she sounds a lot like Taylor Dayne. Plus she's fuckin' hot[8D]

I don't believe in Guilty Pleasures. I understand why people have them, but I'm so passionate about music that NOTHING I listen to embarrasses me.

I can enjoy Neil Diamond and Johnny Mathis just as much as I dig The Clash and The Jam. ELO are just as cool to me as OMD. Sandler & Young are a duo I love just as much as Naked Eyes and Soft Cell.

I could go on, but I'd just be making odd comparisons and the meaning would be lost.

So, I say:

Love what you love and don't be ashamed or embarrassed. Those that choose to make fun of your tastes in music obviously are complete idiots.

Hey MarvyMarv!

Belle and Sebastion are great! They're one of my favorite newer bands. I would never be embarrassed about listening to them. They're kind of like The Smiths meet Simon & Garfunkel.

LOL, I think you nailed it - that must be why I like Belle & Sebastian. I went through a mega, mega Smiths phase...still am crazy about them. And I grew up with Simon & Garfunkel - my parents were big fans.

Hey Spaz, if you get a chance to pick up Johnny Mathis' Open Fire, Two Guitars, definitely go for it. You won't regret it. Stark, stoic, unabashed sincerity married to poetic beauty [|)]

Well said Spaz .
Once in a while I'll listen to music from way back like Jerry Vale , Della Reese , Vera Lynn and many others. If it's good music, that's all that matters.

By my standards , this is deep and well thought out .

My guilty pleasure i guess would be Mama Cass. the song "Words of Love" comes to mind. Damn she had a great voice.
