While slowly morphing into kd lang, Spandau Ballet's Tony Hadley hasn't slowed down. There's apparently no song he WON'T sing. The list of his recent covers includes The Killers' "Somebody Told Me", Gin Blossom's "Hey Jealousy" and "Rio" from Duran Duran. Dude still has the pipes to pull it off.

And then there's these:

Will You Take Me

"I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris" by Morrissey

Catchy guitar riff and nice hooks from the "world's saddest boy". Bonus points for the bad vacation photo on the cover.

Too many non new wave artists are being mentioned.

Lots of 80's bands are still performing but few of them are actually New Wave.

Joan Jett still kicks ass with a little help from her friends. From last Tuesday night on Letterman:

From Wednesday- [i]ICEHOUSE frontman Iva Davies is still one of the coolest rock icons Australia has to offer.

On Wednesday he treated 50 lucky readers to an intimate acoustic performance on the roof of The Advertiser.

The performance, which was streamed live across Australia via News Ltd websites, was a first for Iva and a far cry from the shows in the '80s at Adelaide venue The Arkaba.

"That was a notorious place," he laughs.

"That was one of the more memorable venues I played at actually but playing here on the roof was fantastic."

Having revitalised the band's campaign this year Iva says he's thrilled that people are rekindling the passion for one of Australia's finest acts.

"It's actually a big team of people that have made this happen and to see the press and the fans reacting so well it's just been fantastic."
