Bands Reunited

Hi anyone think theyll do anymore of these?I loved most of the others s far.

If they do, I'd prefer a new host, and a little more research on VH1's behalf. They've been known to approach a few bands to reunite who never broke up, and also thought they could convince Morrissey to reform The Smiths. Yes, standing outside of Moz's front gate with a megaphone is gonna make that happen. :\ There were some good shows (Romeo Void might've been the best one, FGTH's was bizarre), but the host really got on my nerves.

Hey, isn't there someone here who works at VH1 Classic? Could've sworn I'd read some posts here from someone on the inside.

I never heard of the Smiths attempt. Although I agree and am aware of the futility of this, did it actually comprise an episode? I thought I saw them all. Not particularly a Berlin fan, but I enjoyed that episode the best...

I would have to agree, Berlin was the best one...It was like they never broke up. Romeo Void was pretty good too! Insoc was really hard to watch...it was more less a train wreck you can see happening a mile away, but how cares they're together now and just put out a new cd.

I'd like to see the show come back too. Yes I agree, bring in a new host. But what bands???

I enjoyed the Flock of Seagulls one. It was touching with Paul Reynolds chocking up near the end. Now if they did do new ones, I'd like to see Oingo Boingo even though I know the chances of that are pretty slim.

I'm trying to recall whether the Smiths clip (which I saw) was part of a 'failed reunions' compilation, or a show that featured 2 bands (I think they did that once or twice). I just remember that it was not even a five minute segment.

I thought the Berlin episode strange, only because Terri was still touring as Berlin at the time, and going for that particular line-up just seemed odd to me. I'd love to see VH1 try (and fail miserably) to re-unite With Sympathy-era Ministry, just to see Al Jourgensen's reaction. Talk about an episode going up in flames.

Hi they did the 30 mintue ones of New Kids On The Block and Extreme.I loved the Berlin,Flock Of seagull,and Romeo void also.I liked the Motels also.

I enjoyed the ABC episode, specifically when Martin Fry was watching their videos & saying things like "what the hell were we thinking?!"

I find it very bizarre how many of the band members are living in obscurity. Sorry, but if I played bass for Berlin - my coworkers, neighbours are going to know about it. I'm just not that good at keeping secrets. Christ, you can't watch VH1 classic for an hour without seeing the video for Take my breath away...

They did a special on bands they didnt have such good luck trying to "reunite", and they had footage of Morrissey, as he was going into a building(for one of his shows). Never say never(as I've met Morrissey 2 times, when i lived in L.A.) and he said a Smiths reunion would likely NOT happen, but, stranger things have happened.


I, too, wish they'd do more of these, but we can only hope, as MTV/VH-1 continues to bore us all(and lose all cred they have) with a nonstop barrage of: Real World/Shitty shity shity rap songs/shows, reality shows, and the like. They dont play music vids anymore, so they should change their name.

Thought I read on the VH-1 board a while back that there were supposed to be more shows? have no idea when or IF this will happen(but we can hope).

Notice how they took off BTM(Behind The Music) too?

I saw a few of these. I really enjoyed the English Beat episode. In the end, they couldn't get David Steele or Andy Cox, but the other four members performed.




We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

IF there were to be more episodes filmed they would need a new host if only because Amer Haleim or whatever his name is is too recognizable. I *think* it was the Vixen episode where he was actually recognized by the band member he was approaching.

All in all I thought it was a decent show if a bit opportunistic. If you read Kurt Harlan's account of what happened for the InSoc show it puts a whole new light on the proceedings.

I never missed an episode. I saw FOS well after Mike put togeter the new band. Mike can be a big ass if you don't know how to take him. I was working kthe ststion on support and watched soudcheck. I pushed the Listen LP in his face to sign with his hair pic on the back and he made a comment or two. I am a huge ABC and Martin Fry fan and was so sad the rest of them bailed.
