The Late Isabel

This is my favorite band in Manila. They are: Wawi, the vocalist, extremely cute, Allan Hernandez who wrote most of the songs, lead Guitar, John Pete Agcaoli, Drums and Roval Bacale, Bass guitar. They are labeled as Goth but actually their album Doll's Head is very eclectic. Their cover version of My favorite Things is very interesting.

This is a sample: The Rising Tide

Kindly tell me what do U think of the band....

Niceeeeeeeeee!!!

Many many thanks for sharing the above tracks, Fanciz!!! I love both songs!.. and I've never really heard any of their songs before (since I'm not really staying in the Phils), although I kept getting positive feedbacks from other waveheads.

I'm going home for a vacation in Apr and will make sure to grab their album! Is it widely available?

I love the first song even though I think it would sound better if the vocals were back in the mix more. Not bad at all.

The "My Favorite Things" cover sucked ass. My favorite thing was was when it ended.

Thanks though - one out of two ain't bad,

Gloomy... creepy... mysterious... it brings out the GOTHIC spirit in me [}:)][?]
Thanks fanciz!!!

Prior to that, should have introduced myself first. Just like Rubbeet921, I'm a Filipino who've been away from the Philippines for more than a decade and missed local talents.

These are the first tracks I heard from them and "The Rising Tide" really bites... it bit me hard!!! Their cover of My Favorite Things is equally cool.

The song My Favorite Thing is the last of the album and I have to confess that after a listen or two.. it didn't rank among my favorites! But then, then....I watched its video included in the CD and....and... Wawi was so beautiful,... the atmosphere so dreamy...that my perception of that song changed!
And now, a terrible doubt has crawled into my mind! Was my legendary objectivity affected by the video? [:D]
Hum...tough question... Anyway, I might not be the only one coz lots of dudes are posting comments about that song on their web site.

Since 500 copies only were pressed of that CD, you will have little chance to buy it, so here is another track: Dead Eyes.

Fanciz, thanks (again) for sharing one more track! I do like it! I hope the rest of their songs are just as good.

My favorite is definitely "The Rising Tide"!

Hey Rubbeet921, Thanks. Nice reaction for a long time lurker's FIRST POST!!! [8)]

It's getting colder everyday here in Tokyo, making it harder for me to look for CDs like TLI's. BTW, I visited TLI's website and read an article on Doll's Head launch where advance copies where sold out in minutes. You might start checking eBay for a copy.

TLI in Tokyo???? They only pressed 500 copies and they are all gone. Actually it was the second pressing, the first pressing was done before the launching. They are contemplating a third this month. Meanwhile, they are presently recording their second album. The sad news is that Wawi would like to go to New York or may be Paris to pursue her career in photography .

Hey guys, gues what?!!!
Luckily, my brother just found a copy, yes just one copy remaining, of TLI's Doll's Head album in a CD shop in the suburbs of Cebu (Phil). Will get the CD by this weekend.

TLI just went to Cebu to perform with Skies Of Ember, may be they got the new pressing and left a few CD's there.
