Advice for Kimiii on her NY trip!

Postby phillyidol » Tue Feb 01, 2005 9:37 am

NY welcomes Kimiii this month with open arms! But this is the big city so maybe some other people can give her a few tips. I'll start:
1- dont ask the cab driver "how much am I supposed to tip you?"
2- don't look up and point while saying "wow, the buildings are so tall"
3- don't eat the meat from a street vendor. (it's monkey)
4- don't tell everyone that you are from Utah! I love Utah but don't
let people know your from out of town. It helps if they think
that your packing heat!
5-don't ask everyone on the street if they know a guy named Phil from
Brooklyn! (they all do I'm sure but play it safe)

What other things should we warn her about?

If you are on the Subway, don't make eye contact!
Don't linger in one spot too long...makes you an easy target for a purse-snatcher.
...on second thought, try to leave your purse at the hotel. Keep your stuff in your coat or pants pockets.
Be direct!

Leave your standard ammo at home. You'll need the stopping power of hollow points.

Two of my sisters said after their first visit that the food tasted better in that town.
They thought it was the fear that was giving their taste buds an extra sensation.
Maybe that's why King Taco in East L.A. tastes better? [}:)]

In the eighties, I tried to get to NYC twice with my trusty old Civic.(pockets filled with record shopping money) Both times it broke down on the NY Thruway, and we never made it. Ever since, I've vowed to get there, but you know how life is.

Some advice I have for kimiiii:

1. Be sure to visit the Village. While doing so, make sure whilst wandering about you inform the locals of their impending eternal damnation unless they seek salvation in the Chuch of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. T

Yeah, I was born in Elizabeth, NJ and attended elementary school in Cranford, so almost every class trip was to somewhere in Manhattan. I've visited all the big landmarks (Statue of Liberty, twin towers, Empire St. Building, etc) and saw "Dr

A couple of other cool record stores to hit in the Village.

Rebel Rebel-319 Bleeker Street. Nice mix of vinyl and cds. A lot of collectible stuff on the walls, heavy on Bowie. A little expensive; but a lot of stuff from the 80's

1. Visit the village and soho. Do not miss McNulty's Coffee and Tea on Christopher street (they sell bulk tea and coffee, it is not a coffee house).
2. Visit the old ethnic neighborhoods in the lower east side.
3. Visit Battery Park and call out "Susa

Well we were not attacked by Kim yet so I assume she is in NY right now. I'm sure that the first place she went was the cellar in Macys to check out the mens room. Tell her not to and you can count on it that she will. Then she will put on a white gown, h
