SHARE: Short New Wave B-sides Vol. 14

Hi guys, long time no see! Been awfully busy at work, but quietly gathered stuff for new projects :D Here's one of those. Just decided to round up some short B-sides of our favourite era - firstly all-electronic, as I adore synthpop, but then it stared to balloon (as often does when I try to do something quick). I trawled through my collection, then started to check discographies by bands I'm not that familiar with, then it's Discogs for more obscure stuff... Anyway, got enough for 10 volumes now :D It's very addictive, you see, and also there's a collector in me doing his thang.

I made some rules along the way. I decided to exclude songs that also were on albums or versions of those (live, re-recording, remix etc), also no covers, finally, of course, only tracks with vocals on them (real or sampled). Sometimes there were shorter versions on 7" and longer ones on 12", but I went with 7" ones anyway. All this made the task much harder, as it turned out, but all the more interesting for it. Eventually I decided not to dispense with LP songs but grouped them in a separate volume, with which I think I'll close the series. I've done my best to get an even sound but lots of songs are only available on brickwalled CDs or digital releases, so they too went on a separate folder.

All in all, lots of work but so much fun! So once a week a new volume, hopefully. Of course most of you have already heard this stuff but hopefully in this context it'll be of interest. "Let me know what you think in the comments below" :D

I tried to download this, but the Terabox site is making me jump through hoops.
Maybe you can upload to a site that just allows you to simply download a file.

Hi guys! Sorry cannot visit as often as I'd love to, but, keeping with the schedule, here's the second volume. I tried to make them as varied and international as possible, and while the second task wasn't too successful, the first objective one I feel was achieved. Anyway, would love to see your reactions, meanwhile here goes:

01. Talk Talk - Strike up the band
02. Music for Pleasure - Madness at the mission
03. Classix Nouveaux - Old world for sale
04. The Games - First law of games
05. Devo - Mecha-mania boy
06. Men Without Hats - Utter space
07. Greg Vandike - Final scene
08. Rikki Sylvan - Nomansland
09. Jona Lewie - It will never go wrong
10. Yello - Bluehead
11. KaS Product - Malena
12. The The - Born in the new S.A.
13. Heaven 17 - Counterforce
14. Blancmange - Running thin
15. Algebra Suicide - Please respect our decadence
16. The Teardrop Explodes - Camera camera
17. Lene Lovich - Blue
18. INXS - Space shuttle
19. Dalek I - This is my uniform
20. The Limit - Ok go

Sad to see that Terabox doesn't work properly - I love the idea of being able to add and subtract individual files without the need to download and reupload the whole folders. But as it is let's switch to Mediafire.

Added the MF link to the first volume post, too.

I currently have volume 2 on repeat while I do my daily physio. So far "This Is My Uniform" and "OK Go" are my faves.

Blancmange - Running Thin
This is a personal favorite of mine. I used to have the intro of this track as my ringtone.

Great, thank you! It's an interesting use for sure! I thought of doing the up- or downtempo only compilations but then decided to make them more varied, I find it's better for prolonged listening. Future volumes will be like that too. I just decided people can make their own playlists from them, so... :D
