We need More New Wavers on the uk hub on DC++

Discuss hard-to-find or out-of-print New Wave and '80s Alternative, and share a few songs along the way.

Siouxmoux, how's the content. I've heard if you go on there with a good amount of anything decent, you get swarmed on but without a lot of bang for the buck in return. Really worth it?

The last time I tried getting on it, they wanted no less than 50 freakin' gigs to share. I don't have that.

I'll return when they relax their entry requirement of 80gigs or some stupid amount like that.

At least the Hub welcomes any amount as the person adds some more variety to the mix.

Nice to hear they're relaxing their entry requirements, but why have them at all? It only creates an elitist "better than you" attitude.

I see some people on there with 5 gigs.

I just started using theukhub.no-ip.org a few days ago so maybe it was just changed recently.

I was on it last night.

For some bizarre reason, I was able to connect to it. No timeouts, connections refused, no big burly man with a clipboard and earpiece stopping me at the door. There was that lengthly rule list, but I closed it and was well in my way. Saw some familiar faces.

Whenever I log on, no one else is there and the few that are, all their slots are taken but everyone wants to download from me. I like soulseek so I can control that. If I can't download from you, you can't download from me.

My biggest gripe with DC++(aside from the firewall/connection issues) is that the search function doesn't. I list an artist and get jack squat for results, yet I find the artist I just searched for if I root through people's directories. Kinda makes it pointless to run an ADL or a plain search.

I don't know how your Dc++ looks like, but I have a "manual adress connect" option. Just to paste and press connect, or you can lay it as an new favourite.
