<br>Damned right Blir. And what do some of these bars and clubs have on certain nights? Bring your own Rio and be a DJ? No, bring your iPod and share.
Er.. where have you heard that ONLY ipods are plugged in at clubs?
As far as I knew, ANY Mp3 player is welcome to plug in as long as the sound & mixing board has a suitable input adapter. Mp3s are the same played on ANY player FCS! as long as the bitrate and audio levels are good.
That just smacks of snobbish techno-elitism IMO.
Give it a rest already.

Dude, easy. It seems you're the one who's personallizing this and turning it into some anti-Pod vendetta! I'm just having some fun while extolling it's virtures and expressing my sheer stokedness for the Pod - is that word? It is now!!!

And it's not snobery - it's a technical point. These clubs I've seen and heard about DON'T use other players because they WON'T take a shitty mic-out sound source to play over big PAs. They DO have common iPod bases stations and their much cleaner and more powerful line-out source. Jeez, what has the Pod ever done to you?

No Vendetta At All Dude!
I just want to point out how biased consumer preferences are that's all.
It's the same Mac vs PC argument now morphing into the mp3 player technology market.
You folks loyal to Apple will continue to be so.
And the rest will buy other brands.
This is whole Sony Walkman phenom repeating itself.

Yeah, that's why you don't use a PC running Windows [V] Anyway, I majored in Advertising, Marketing - integral to a graphic designer's education - so I know all about consunmer demographics and how they're used for commercial purposes like product development. Thanks for "pointing out how biased consumer preferences are" but you could have just said so if you really wanted to make that point to those who don't already know it.

And if you want to make it an argument of class and elitism, frankly it's not hard to want to be a class apart from people like you with your unprovoked disdain and scorn for a clearly superior product. Again, what did the iPod ever do to you? Sell? I mean really.....[xx(]

<br>I was just catching the end of today's Tour de France stage. How cool is it that some are taking to the iPod with an iMic attached for their interviews?! It's hilarious to see an iPod being stuck up to an athlete's face, like "dude, is there something you want me to listen to??"

<br>Hey, whatever 2nu. It's like I said, what would you rather get around in a BMW or a Hyundai? There is simply no other mp3 player that is easier to use or to learn to use. Period. And that's worth every penny.

The iPod's success is predicated on it's unintimidating interface, pleasant aesthetics and fashionably chic factor. A powerful marketing campaign that delivers on it's promises delivered by a high profile - alternative - hip - edgy company and you've got all the makings of a successful product. Don't scorn the iPod dude. It's pop cultural achievement is only logical.
Again, It was my intention to point out that there were OTHER mp3 players out there WORTHY of mention given the glaring iconic status of the ipod.
To imply that other products are inferior by default without discussing their particular attributes it is simply expressing a biased opinion.
Ok, one more time and I'm done with this,
The bit about the ipod flea got the yucks cause it was a self parody.
MY bit didn't, cause it was a ribald satirical comment about the plethora of after market merchandizing surrounding the ipod.
Guess Blir is the defacto ipod jokester around here...
OK whatever..

P.S.

For the computer, nothing beats WinAmp in my opinion. Easy, versatile, and user-friendly.

For the personal MP3 player, I'm loving my Creative Zen Extra - 40 gig, great sound, about the size of an old-school walkman, and thus far (three months of ownership), not a single problem. Is it as sleek and sexy as an IPod? No, but the function, the storage, and the fact that Creative has had a few years to perfect their product sure make a huge difference.
