Hopefully the songs are not mixed together. I would love to get a copy of Salsa House (Original Version) by Richie Rich on cd. I am very suprised not to see Joey Beltram's Ecstacy on there , Peter Hook has said that was the defining song of the Hacienda.

I distinctly recall him saying that the defining song would have been Rhythm is a Dancer by Snap, but he's probably said it of different things. But yeah, you'd think something by Beltram would be on there...is it really called Ecstasy or Energy Flash?

PS. I'm serious as cancer when I say rhythm is a dancer. [:0][B)]

That looks like it'll be a good compilation Blir. I always get excited when I see Sterling Void's House classic, "It's Alright" included in these comps. One of the best tunes of the time. Even though it was always a very big Pet Shop Boys favorite of mine, the soul found in the original is second to none. Magnificent. Lots of cheese, you're right, but some nuggets of supreme auditory pleasure to be found as well - make no mistake. Happy Mondays' Step On, 808 State's Pacific, Black Box's Ride On Time, Shannon's Let The Music Play, Candi Staton's You Got The Love.....not to mention the K-Class remix of New Order's Ruined In A Day.

Just got my copy from Amazon UK. It is cross-mixed as expected. Oh well. It'll be a great source for injecting some energy into any day or night. Highly recommended.

I also picked up the UK version of the book Rip It Up and Start Again: Postpunk 1978-1984. Not sure if the additional 200 pages are just different formatting from the US version or actual content. This version has 26 chapters with the last one starting on page 491, an Afterchapter on 517, MTV Appendix on 529, Bibliography on 539 and Punk/Post-Punk timeline on 545. Anyone with the US version care to chime in?
