I had no idea there was a club version for "Love Is A Stranger" from Eurythmics. I remember buying the 12" and it only being the legth of the LP version--3:43, or thereabouts. I, too, would LOVE to have the 12" mix of "Who's That Girl" finally on disc. Plus, unless there's another 12" version for it, I have the re-issue of The Fixx's Shuttered Room and it does have a 12" version of "Stand Or Fall".

One song I would absolutely love to have issued on disc is Edgar Winter's "Frankenstein '84". It's an awesome groove! Every now & again you can catch this video on VH-1 Classic. It's perfectly funk, perfectly rock, and perfectly new wave.

Also, Heatbeat UK, Jon Moss' post-Culture Club outfit, would be awesome on disc!

Maybe (s)he meant the 1991 releases of "Love is a Stranger". One of the mixes on the second 12" is on the remastered "Sweet Dreams" CD, but the other mixes are good too ("Obsession Mix" + "JC meets the Obsessor" which is the same as Obsession Mix but with JC rapping on top of it ... which isn't as bad as you think).

Unbelievable!!! It is so nice to have someone mention Edgar Winter's "Frankenstein '84". I have never heard this, but would love to. I've searched high and low and haven't yet found it on a compilation CD. Now, this would be a real "monster"!!!!!

This group is amazing!!!

How generous! Thanks for the sample. I've heard the version without the rap before and it still works with it. It would have been cool if there was a 12" version released back in the day. Somewhere on the net I found an extended version of "This Is The House" and it's quite good. I would certainly love to see it officially issued on disc. Who knows, maybe there are more Eurythmics comps in the making. Thanks again!

Hey, forgot about these other remixes I had:
http://s29.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=28PH ... 9B7GRNFLSR
a few extended versions from Sweet Dreams era. I'll let it be a surprise [:D].

I'm sure I posted them here before but here's the run-down again. I saw some of these files on Napster, and somehow asked another user about them. (S)he said that he bought this Eurythmics Extended Versions CD from some Asian country and ended up ripping the entire CD for me. I couldn't find any info about this release and I didn't badger the guy for any more info. The quality is top but I haven't seen these particular versions appear anywhere else. For example, I have the "Julia" 12" which includes Ministry of Love extended as the bside. The version of "Ministry of Love" on the CD is extended but has been edited differently than the 12" version. And the mixes of "Love is a Stranger" and "Sweet Dreams" are based on the original versions (as opposed to the 1990s 12" releases).

I would certainly love to see it officially issued on disc.

I agree. I love some of those old tracks and was disappointed that they weren't included on the remasters.

enjoyed volume 1-4 very much, so I can't wait for no 5... just a question, did you ever consider to come up with a dvd as well? there is so many classic 80es videos in lockers that will otherwise possibly never see the light of the day...
