Just found this thread (and indeed this forum) through Googling for Artery related stuff. Nice to see this marvellous band getting a bit of recognition. A few years ago I wrote a book called 'Truth & Beauty - The Story Of Pulp' and tried to big up Artery a bit there as there were quite a few connections beween the two bands (as well as being a massive influence on Jarvis, various early Pulp line-ups included various sometime Artery members, plus both bands were managed by Tony Perrin for a while). Of course at that point their music was incredibly difficult to track down, so it's great that some of it has made it onto CD now. Speaking of which...

These were tracks from a later album called The Second Coming, recorded by a different Artery line-up. It's pretty different in style to the 'classic' Artery material, but worth a listen evenso. They did a live album around the same period that was in a similar style.
As for early tracks that haven't made it onto either of the first CDs, there are quite a few. These are the ones that I'm aware of:
- Live bonus tracks from the Unbalanced single: Perhaps/Turtle/Toytown/Heinz
- Exclusive version of The Slide released on the Bouquet Of Steel compilation in 1980
- Life And Death (B-side of Cars In Motion)
- The Slide (BBC version released on Oceans)
- Afterwards & Potential Silence (unrelesed BBC versions from Jul '81 Peel session)
- Louise (unreleased BBC version from Jan '82 Peel session - never heard this!)
The main conclusion to be drawn from this is that they recorded Afterwards and The Slide far more times than was sensible. There's also the film of the full set from the 1980 Futurama festival, one track from which was released on the Made In Sheffield vid.
One release that I'd love to get hold of is the 'Afterwards' rarities compilation that came out in the mid '80s - see

A copy has just gone for quite a lot of money on Ebay, and has a load of stuff that's never been released elsewhere. Maybe one day...
