OMD - Architecture & Morality (CD Reissue)

Postby obs » Sat Oct 07, 2006 11:13 pm

I have two 12"'s of telegraph from that period with two different versions one being rarer that has a reverse type intro to it.

I picked up a DE pressing of Telegraph months ago, but I've been too lazy to hear which version it is [:D].

I think it was a European release that was a double a side with genetic engineering [good version though]

Canadian release. I have it too [:)].

why would anyone settle for a copy off a website when the remastered version is so easily availbale for a reasonable price?? I guess I will never understand this. I can see a CD-R for something out of print/rare to at least have it until you can find a regular CD, but other than that, I don't get it. It can't just be a money thing. I'm not bashing anyone for only wanting copies to I guess save money, just for myself, this would never do. Not when I can order it for a decent price. I don't feel I truly own it until I get an original.

Cheers Grunch...I feel the same way. I'll burn a record to CD-R only if it's never been released on cd. Maybe it's the collector in me...just have to have the real thing!

BTW, all this OMD talk brings back good memories of my first new wave show ever...OMD in Seattle, March 1982. The Architecture and Morality tunes were great live!

A great concert tour! I saw them at Perkens Palace in Pasadena, The Units were the opening act. [:)]

I never did buy anything by The Units, did see their EP at the record stores back then. My memory all these years was they opened with Architecture & Morality as an instrunmental opening, that stage was all dark, a black mesh screen in front of the band, fog machines, flashing lights, strobe lights, etc. My first thought was, they going to play the whole gig in the dark; hence, the name of the band ...In The Dark, they'll be performing in the dark [:0] [:(]. Hey I was 18, and naive! [:)] What a great show! And maybe you're right SSQ, that "The New Stone Age" was the opening song of the set... I can't remember after all this time. [8D]

I'm still waiting for the remasters of "Dazzle Ships", "Crush" and Junk Culture"...and now they do the same 3 first albums again. Will I ever finish the OMD collection? Do I have to wait till everybody on earth owns a copy of Architecture & Morality?
