2007 is off to a fantastic start, I have heard so many good songs recently.....

Here's a few suggestions:

Just Jack - Starz In Their Eyes (Big Audio Dynamite fronted by The Streets!?!? )

Cinematics - Break (Reminds me of The Bolshoi!)

Coparck - A Good Year For The Robots -any song about robots is cool, this is just cooler than most

Guillemots- Annie, Let's Not Wait- would sound perfect with an umbrella drink in your hand (Not to mention, you'd be hipper than everyone else if you owned this!)

Bromhead Jackets - Trip To The Golden Arches (If you liked Art Brut, you'll like this)

The Dark Romantics -Another Song For Another Night (A touch of Eurythmics mixed with the darker wave 80's scene)

Gomm- Why Can't I Relieve You (Sounds like Lene Lovich fronting a Snotty punk group who are channeling The Offspring)

The Last Town Chorus do a hauntingly slow version of David Bowie's Modern Love (think Sinead O'Connor)

The Majestic Twelve - Condoleeza, Check My posse (Very similar to Scott Goddard-with the classic line: I'd buy some Canadiens but they're all frickin' lazy)

Ima Robot - No Control (Ummm, another song about not being able to be the master of your own domain)

LaRocca - Sketches (Of A Twenty Something Life) very Springsteen-like

Malcolm Middleton - A Brighter Beat (I'm a sucker for that accent-simple bouncy pop song that is probably huge overseas)

Small Leaks Sink Ships - Sackcloth In Ashes (reminds me of They Might Be Giants)

Albert Hammond Jr. - Back To the 101 (Like father like son, more sugary pop than the Strokes but catchy)

The Slip - Children Of December (nice indie guitar rock)

!!!- Heart Of Hearts - danceable weirdness!!!

1090 Club - Second Hander (Joe Jackson Lives!)

Thriving Ivory - Angels On The Moon (Standard AOR Piano Ballad with Hit written all over it)

The View - Same Jeans (Brit Pop in The Libertines vein - pun intended))

The Bees- Left Foot Stepdown (Samba-like swinging goodness with a cool 70's A.M. radio vibe)

The Wombats - Moving To New York (excellent jangly pop)

The Young Knives do a great cover of Kids In America

Farrah - Dumb Dumb Ditty (Weezer fans will ove this!)

You, Me And Everyone We Know - I'd Be More Interested If You Were Already Spoken For (Similar to Say Anything...if you don't know who Say Anything is, do yourself a favor and check out Say Anything....Is A Real Boy)

Many many more if you can believe it! Larrikin Love, Sondre Lerche, the Subways, The Fratellis (buy this album!)....the list goes on and on....

Excellent band (Cinematics)- I heard them on XMU for the first time last week. Also heard a band called Azure Ray. First I'd heard of them, do you have any info?
