Atlantics

Postby tileboy » Wed Jan 17, 2007 11:57 am

The Atlantics did actually release an lp in 1979 called Big City rock on ABC records. At the time "Big City rock " and a cover of "Nowhere to Run " got some airplay on BCN. The album overall is just ok. The weird thing about the Atlantics ,they became more popular from the songs on the new cd,which were released only as tapes to radio stations. I don't think any of those songs made it to vinyl even as a single.
I saw them a bunch of times at Jonathans in Salem,Ma and at the Channel.

Hi Everybody..I'm Rayboy Fernandes. I played drums for the Atlantics and appeared on the Big City Rock album on ABC Records in 1978
It's nice to see there's still so much interest in the band.
A few months ago Fred Pineau, Tom Hauck, Bobby Marron and myself tried to put together a reunion of sorts, but since leader/bassist and principle songwriter B Wilkinson is no longer with us,we thought it would be best if we just left it alone.
However..with the release of the new cd, and a live CD of the band at the Paradise in Boston due in the spring, there will be plenty of Atlantics music to listen to.
We want to thank everyone for their support in remembering us.
It makes us all feel great and makes it all worthwhile.
Thank you
Rayboy Fernandes

Hey, Ray! Been a big fan -- ever since I heard "Lonelyhearts" back in 1981. (Not that you were with them at that point...) Sorry I never got to see you guys live, but the CD ought to make up for it.
