i have been wondering what the typical dress and makeup for a new waver--male and female would be...i would love to incorporate soem sense of new wave into my style, since new wave is ebcoming one of my favorite genres of music.

Did a lot of people really do the punk or flock of seagulls things? It's my recollection that even in LA, pretty dressed pretty normal (for then). OP and Vans were more predominant than pink parachute pants. Most guys still wore their hair pretty long, wh

I recently looked at pictures from my five year class reunion that was held 1988 and it looked like a photo shoot for a 1980 MTV's promo. But you are probably right "most" people dressed fairly normal.

In Washington, most guys wore a lot of turtleneck sweaters, or baggy dress shirts. Levis (501’s) that were either blue or black were also very common as were beach pants. You would see a lot of concert tee’s as well. Funky blazers were also worn quite

I think we dressed differently for day and night time clubbing. When we went out it was usually black, or a color with black. That bright blue was very popular but I was more of a red person. I always wore makeup then, dark around the eyes and bright li
