I will gladly fork over the cash for Playground by The Truth. What a great album.

I found it very disappointing considering how great their early singles and EPs were. It had similiar sound to their early stuff but lacked the hooks that made it so good.

I'll have to seek out the early stuff, as I've only heard Playground. It'd be nice if American Beat could include the early singles and EPs as a bonus disc.

The must-hear songs are 'Confusion Hits Us Every Time' and 'Stepping in the Right Direction' which were both top 40 hits in the UK.
The Fleshtones back catalogue would be a natural for a label named "American Beat"
[/quote] I'd really like to have "Hexbreaker" on disc. And another vote for Blue In Heaven "All The Gods Men".

One day, one day someone is going to take the two Scruffy The Cat EPs and put them on one disc. But I'm sure this will happen after I die.

Blanket of Secrecy would be nice as well.

Is there any criteria to their reissues, such as style or what label it was originally issued on, so that we can make more suitable suggestions?

I'm not totally sure. I think the main thing is to not get too obscure. I imagine they'll mainly stick with major label stuff that is easy to clear. They're doing stuff from Gary US Bonds to Haircut 100 to Britney Fox, so it's not too genre specific. Just stuff that a lot of people are looking for.

Okay, well, don't know how many people would want this, but I quite like Red 7's first album (self titled). It was released around 1985 on MCA. They did have a track played on Miami Vice, afterall [:)].

PS. Their second album sucked, and I don't think there was anymore after that.

Hey, Surly - Any idea on what's up with this label? Their MySpace page is MIA. Have they folded? That's a shame if so.

The DR HOOK & GARY U.S BONDS sound interesting....
if i'm not mistaken,i think the 2 Gary U.S. Bonds lp's were produced by Bruce Springsteen.
