Just what the hell was Cory Hart's problem?

Postby bpdp3 » Sun Jan 09, 2005 4:25 am

You know, I really try to be a nice guy. I really do. I try to look for the good in everybody. Everybody.

If you listen to 'Sunglasses at Night', this COULD be a decent enough new wave artist. Maybe a little too much hair-metal guitar, maybe a little over-dramatic, but it has potential. He MIGHT be able to become an artist of merit in our chosen genre.

But then you get to the "Never Surrender" video. Here's poor Cory, all sad and whatnot, left out in the rain, sad look on his face as he shelters himself from the cold, all alone, no one loves him. This poor, poor guy. It makes me SICK..

(...the way I used to get SICK at Poison's "Every Rose has its thorn" video. The bodyguard has to drag the poor bass player off the stage because the whole concert was just TOO MUCH, and the girls in the front row look on with those sad eyes that say 'PLEASE let him be okay'....)

Please holp - - help me find something redeeming about Cory Hart. There must be something I'm missing...

I couldn't remember any other Corey Hart songs other than Sunglasses and Never Surrender so I looked up his greatest hits on amazon. I have come to the conclusion that I cannot defend him. However, go to this link and

A little love and Icon from the album "bang" 1990 were OK.

And Dancing With My Mirror...is an awesome track.

He did do a new wave song called boy in the box that I have on 45. He did have some talent but I get what your saying. Sort of like my hall and oats experience. I really do like them and they are very talented. But when I see the videos of them trying to

Oh, yeah! I remember "Boy in a Box" as well. I had (thankfully) forgotten all about that one. Corey Hart was indeed about 40 different kinds of suck.

I didn't mind him myself, he had quite a few songs I liked. I don't care how he looked, or about his videos, still think he had some decent songs.

I still would rather listen to Cory Hart than Eminem or Ashlee Simpson or whatever other crap that is peddled these days.

There were too many Cory's in the 80's and they all were all 40 different kinds of suck. Haim, feldman, hartÉI didn't like any of his stuff. Although even to this day, when i wear sunglasses at night, I sing I wear my sunglasses at night, and people aroun

Aww man! Now I've got this schitzo cacophonic medley of Sunglasses at Night and Never Surrender stuck in my head! I can't handle this thread--I forgot to take my meds this morning.[:p]

Agree with Devildog, but will go on to add, Corey Hart, for all the bad rap here, is better than so much of the SHIT that passes as good music on radio. I am very open-minded, take my word for it, but so much of what is played today is pure fecal matter n

I'm surprised by you people!
Corey Hart could capture all the love the great romantics had
Sing you a song that ain't half bad
But that ain't enough
That ain't enough for you
What do you people want? Paul Young?!?
