Classix Nouveaux

Classix Nouveaux

From: www.myspace.com/classixnouveaux

"Hello everyone,

Sal Solo (former lead singer for Classix Nouveaux for the few of you who may not know) needs your help! Cherry Red Records has contacted Sal about doing a new Classix Nouveaux compilation. Cherry Red wants to do a singles collection, but Sal wants to leave it to the fans to decide. Sal has asked me to ask those of you who are friends on this page to help decide what songs will be included on the next CD. Please comment on this bulletin or email me directly at classixnouveaux@insightbb.com and let me know your picks. You can send me a single song choice or what the song list would be if you designed the CD. I know a couple of my personal choices would be the non LP b-sides "Switch", "Chamin Chagrin" and "627", but we want to hear from you. Once I receive your picks, I will forward the results to Sal and Cherry Red Records. This is your opportunity to be a part of the making of a Classix Nouveaux CD. I will send a later bulletin giving you the cutoff date.
Sal and I look forward to hearing from you!"

Just passing this along.

All the best,
eighties

all the LPs and a best of CD are still in print, so wouldn't it be best to release a compilation with perhaps the most popular singles and then basically anything and everything that is not on CD yet, including remixes, extended versions and b-sides?

Pretty much everything has already appeared on disc, no? I don't have Secret on disc but, Night People and LaVerite had all of the b-sides included.

Hi!
In my opinion, the new CN compilation must be a double CD with A sides + B sides and the remixes:

CD one
01 - THE ROBOT´S DANCE (a)
02 - 623 (b)
03 - NASTY LITTLE GREEN MEN (a)
04 - TEST TUBE BABIES (b)
05 - GUILTY (a)
06 - NIGHT PEOPLE (b)
07 - TOKYO (a)
08 - OLD WORLD FOR SALE (b)
09 - INSIDE OUTSIDE (a)
10 - WE DON´T BITE (b)
11 - EVERY HOME SHOULD HAVE ONE (b)
12 - NEVER AGAIN (a)
13 - 627 (b)
14 - IS IT A DREAM (a)
15 - WHERE TO GO (b)
16 - BECAUSE YOU´RE YOUNG (a)
17 - IT´S NOT TOO LATE (b)
18 - THE END... OR THE BEGINNING (a)
19 - CHEMIN CHAGRIN (b)
20 - FOREVER AND A DAY (a)
21 - SWITCH (b)
22 - NEVER NEVER COMES (a)
23 - MANITOU (b)

CD 2

01 - GUILTY (12'' VERSION)
02 - THE ROBOT'S DANCE (NEW VERSION)
03 - INSIDE OUTSIDE (12'' VERSION)
04 - TOKYO (NEW VERSION)
05 - NEVER AGAIN (EXTENDED VERSION)
06 - IS IT A DREAM (EXTENDED VERSION)
07 - BECAUSE YOU'RE YOUNG (12'' VERSION)
08 - THE END...OR THE BEGINNING (12'' VERSION)
09 - FOREVER AND A DAY (12'' VERSION)
10 - SWITCH (12'' VERSION)
11 - MANITOU (12'' VERSION)

I would love to see CD2 above and a bonus DVD disc of their videos and tv performances.

I gave the idea of a double CD with the singles and 12''mixes.
But I agree with the Mixes more DVD with all the videos!!

I want to second Astronaut200's release idea. 2 Discs would be ideal and the track listing looks great

How many compilations does a band with three albums need?[:D]

Just do a rarities CD with the tracks that weren't included on the reissued CDs (and there are a few) + maybe some solo stuff (not only by Sal but also by Airport & Dean, M.A.O. etc.). Otherwise it just doesn't warrant the attention.

Cherry Red Records will edit, in January 18, 2010, a new cd compilation with all the Liberty singles!

They followed my sugestion, unless the first two tracks:
The Robots Dance and 627.
