From thefarmersboys.com:

Just had word from Stan that Get Out & Walk will be released in May 2009 – containing the full album, Muck It Out, 12 inch remixes and B sides.

That is amazing news. I never thought I would see these guys on cd. Gives us hope for a lot of the other lesser known bands of the 80's.

Have any samples of their stuff? I have never heard of them, and if their stuff is good, I will pick up a copy of the cd.

Can't access You Tube here at work but I believe there were video's on there last time I looked to sample.

Tracklisting below. Shame the early Backs/Waap singles/b-sides aren't included but hopefully these versions will surface on CD at some point. Also the 'Apparently/Uncle Freddie' single is not included but if the second album 'With These Hands' gets the same treatment they should be on there.

For the uninitiated the band came out of the Norwich scene in the early 80s with The Higsons. John Peel loved their early work and they are much better than their, rather quirky, name suggests.

Although I've carefully coveted two copies of the vinyl (with the 4 track 12" mixes)in near mint condition, i'm still shouting 'HOORAH!'
over this - all that remains is the usual 'it's Cherry Red, so what's the source material/sound quality?' it seems to be a 50/50 shot with CR releases, so here's hoping they do justice to this long lost classic - when it comes to Muck it out, I hope they don't Muck it up!
(see the play on words there?)

Wonderbar! This is probably their most polished studio work. Let's hope CR is not going to f*** this up!! [:p]

Some of the early singles and b-sides were on that "Once upon a time in the east" compilation and the 2nd album was reissued on Vinyl Japan with no bonus tracks, but they're both OOP unfortunately.

Hi there.

I managed to grab a copy of 'Once Upon A Time In The East' back in the day, all session/demo tracks but a fine CD.

I missed out on getting a CD copy of the Vinyl Japan re-issue, now going for large sums, but have a CDR.

'Get Out & Walk' arrived today, so order from Cherry Red if you want an early copy. Will report back once listened to tonight.

Sounds good to these ears. No indication of the source but no pops or crackles. Nice booklet too.

For anyone who has waited for feedback before ordering this then BUY WITH CONFIDENCE - the sound is great throughout and none of it sounds taken from vinyl - if only all CR releases were this good . . . .
