Renaissance Records set to release entire Sherbet

Renaissance Records set to release entire Sherbet

Postby neilatthecross » Wed Aug 12, 2009 3:08 am

I just got an email from Renaissance Records that they will be releasing the entire Aussie Catalog for the band Sherbet / Sherbs.
Renaissance Records has already released material from Sherbs aka Sherbet.
With the new releases, Renaissance will finally release Sherbet's only U.S. release "Magazine" along with a batch of B-Sides,rarities,Aussie only releases etc...from the Sherbet,Sherbs & Highway monikers.
Renaissance says they want to bring the biggest selling act in Australia & New Zealand history to the U.S.
It will be interesting to hear a bunch of Sherbs rarities like the demos to, I Have The Skill & I'm OK.

Thank you for the news, as here in Australia most of their catalogue is in limbo. As our major record company 'Festival Records' sold all of it's catalogue to 'Warners', when they closed down. Festival records owned about 60% of Aussie bands content. So most of Australian Music is sitting in Warners vaults and forgotten about. It's always a pleasant surprise when an overseas company re-releases some Out of print Aussie music.

Renaissance recently released the rarest Sherbet album which was titled Highway 1 here in the States with bonus cuts & Renaissance kept true to the original Aussie release of the Sherbet LP (renamed & retitled Highway 1 in the U.S.) by keeping it's original track order & original mix of "You Made A Fool".
The cd artwork is taken from the original HIghway 1 U.S. release that shows a different track order than the cd,but,Renaissance did use the original masters from Australia from what I understand.
Renaissance has released both Sherbs LP's already on cd,so,I can't wait to hear the entire Sherbet / Sherbs catalog especially with all the rare & demo material.
