Why do labels indulge in delays. This was supposed to happen years ago and it kept on being pushed back. I wouldn't be surprised if in April '10 we're informed for another delay. Remember the Eurythmics remasters ? almost 2 years.

Not happy about the delay in releasing the collectors edition of So Red The Rose. But, honestly, after years of thinking this would never happen, I'm willing to wait just a bit longer.

I can still remember the excitement of getting my issue of ICE Magazine with a 'Stop the presses' blurb at the very end of the last page where the announcement of the Japanese release of So Red The Rose on CD was made.

Most of us up til that point were making do with LPs or warbly worn cassette tapes of this beloved album.

The only question I have is whether this release used the original digital files or not. I remember Nick saying everything for the
Arcadia project was recorded digitally, so it would be interesting to know what was used as a master recording for this reissue.

Finnatic, how was the Japanese release different than the US version? Did it come out sooner?

As I mentioned in the 7/Self-titled thread, hold off on those import orders. Arcadia is being released domestically on April 20, and the 2 Durans on April 6.

According to the guy here in Vegas @ Zia Records, the Arcadia release is from Canada. He told me thats where it said on his comp, that it could be ordered from. Not sure exactly if thats the story? just going by what he said. He also said it was almost $40 bucks. Might have to wait for it to come in used or something....

I have access to an EMI site for retailers, etc where I can view their new release books, so I can confirm these will definitely be released in the US. I'm not sure of the list price as they show price codes instead of list prices, but they are coming. They will most likely just be product that is manufactured in Europe and shipped over for the US arm of EMI Distribution to sell (that's why a lot of reissues from EMI have little stickers on the back that say "Made In Holland.")
