Another vote here for Haircut 100 - Paint and Paint especially if they include the various mixes and b-sides.

Unless it's already been mentioned, how about a Wide Boy Awake CD with singles, b-sides, 12" mixes, etc.?

I did my part and emailed Words on Music about a possible future ABECEDARIANS reissue and this was the response I received:

"Thanks for your suggestion -- we've actually received about a half-dozen inquiries from folks asking about an Abecedarians reissue. Our plate is kind of full, but I'll take another listen to their music.

Much appreciated,

Eric

Here's hoping![8D]

wow. this thread has good karma. After a long time, I've finally looked over this entire thread once again, and a nice handful of the stuff people mentioned has actually been or is scheduled to be released since originally posted here.

Here's hoping indeed...I find it quite fruitful to contact the indie labels direct...I have also had dialogue with IPR and LTM, and while IPR isn't going to do it in the short term, LTM does seem interested and I have found out that a SAVAGE REPUBLIC retrospective is in the pipeline later this year on LTM.

I would also email LTM and IPR as well...there is a strong, cult audience for this music that will definitely buy when finally released...as a side note, I just received the quite frankly superb LTM release, AUTEUR LABELS: INDEPENDENT PROJECT RECORDS, and it is quite stunning...Abecedarians, For Against, Camper Van Beethoven, Scenic, Savage Republic, Springhouse and more...http://www.ltmrecordings.com/alindependentproject.html

my dream list is (and please please please if anyone knows if anything from this list is planned soon....):
China crisis 1st 3 albums with absolutely fantastic b sides (e.g. the highest high b sides are even better than anything on their albums, and that says a lot)
Nik Kershaw's first two albums
Flock of Seagulls 1st album (it looks like 2nd is being reissued w. B sides soon)
Blue Zoo's 2 by 2 (I always thought this is a really good although not too original record - but still love it after about 30 years)
Blow Monkeys animal magic
Howard Jones first two albums
The Smiths - now when will they ever do justice to those albums?
Spandau Ballet first 4 albums (I will ignore the recent releases of the first two albums - just collect all the copies & nburn them on stake with remasters and do it properly - the same track list is fine by me)
Alphaville 1st album
OMD Crush, Junk Culture, Pacific age (in the same way the preceeding albums were done - I love those reissues/remasters)
Visage 1st album???? What are you waiting for?
Human League's Hysteria (Although Dare with b sides would be nice one too)
Erasure's wonderland
Depeche Mode - Box sets of singles for those of us who still do not want to embrace the DVD audio thing. And Please do it in the same way that it was done for Duran Duran singles - a nice informative 3CD box for about 10 pounds each (Morrisey box set was done the same way too).
Simple Minds - Themes box sets, again in the same way Duran Duran was done - Nice 3CD boxes. Alternatively, a re-release of remasters as 2CD sets with the second disc including all single versions, remixes and b sides - let's start with Empires & Dance, and stop with Once Upon A time (that would Include Don't You)
Icicle Works - If you want to defeat your enemy sing his song (my favourite album, although all albums except the 1st which was released with additional songs, would be nice)
Icehouse (first 3)
INXS (Inxs, Underneath the colours, the swing, Shabooh Shoobah, Listen Like Thieves )

and that's it - surely I forgot many things, but lit's a start, isn't it?

Mick Karn Dreams of Reason... and Titles
Japan remasters are nice but booklets could have been better

Human Leagues Hysteria has already been remastered as has Crash the only one that hasn't so far been is Romantic.

Howard Jones will release remastered remasters of his back catalogue at the end of this year.

The Depeche Mode singles boxes have been available for years as has the Simple Minds Themes box sets.

As for OMD,China Crisis and Inxs i wouldn't hold my breath waiting on those.

Um... too many to mention but these the most:

Cabaret Voltaire:
- "Drinking Gasoline" EP combined with "Gasoline In Your Eye" VHS in a super deluxe "Drinking Gasoline/Gasoline In Your Eye" CD/DVD edition
- "The Covenant, The Sword And The Arm Of The Lord", "Code" and "Groovy, Laidback And Nasty" + additional CD of the accompanying B-sides, remixes and rarities, and a DVD with the accompanying promo videos and live/TV appearances

I'll come up with some other ones later...

Paul Hardcastle:
- "Daybreak" (1984), "Zero One" (1985) and "Paul Hardcastle" (1985)
- "The Very Best Of Paul Hardcastle 1983 - 2003" + the additional DVD of promo videos and TV appearances

The The:
- all 7 studio albums + the additional CD of b-sides, remixes and rarities, and a DVD of the accompanying promo videos

The Sisterhood:
- "Gift" (1986)

Kate Bush:
- "The Whole Story" (1986) + the additional DVD of promo videos

really wish I had bought the reissue in 95, it is very expensive now.

Cherry Pop/Cherry Red Records are re-issuing it May 25th. It will include several remixes and B-sides on as well. ;-)

I'd like to see a DVD collection of all their and Paul King's solo promo videos, TV and live appearances out one day so bad too.

And what about his solo album Joy along with mixes for I Know and Follow My Heart ? I'd also like to see a possible Bananarama anthology (1981-88) with all the mixes that're not on cd yet.
