Yeah, I'm with ben_at_work. I've dated girls that were just way too narrow minded to give my music a chance which irked me to no avail, considering I always took the higher ground and not just tolerated their musical choices but got into them as well. Scr

My girlfriend doesn't know a lot about music, she's more of a reader. I've gotten her into some modern indie rock and a little bit of new wave, she seems to like both. My obsession with music also doesn't bother her, so it's not really an issue. I know

Give up a GF or my collection?? EASY, the GF would be gone in a flash. Then again, they would never have existed in my world without some appreciation for music to begin with.

As for a wife, I would have never gone down that road with someone who was n

interesting question!

For me, it's never come to that. My husband is also passionate about music, altho we have different tastes. I like what Ben At Work said--it's really not so much WHAT they listen, but that they love music just as much as you do.

Begin a relationship with a mix-tape every time folks, and you shouldn't ever have to choose. If I had my back to the wall though, I'd choose the music over a girlfriend/wife. Companionship is not all it's cracked up to be. I'd rather sleep next to my Tee

My wife would never ever have a problem with my music, but should some other circumstance require any decision of music versus wife, again I say, for me, this is no decision, period. My woman comes before anything else, period. There is no choice to be ma

My husband is almost as into New Wave as I am, so it hasn't ever been a problem. When we got married, we had a lot of duplicates of albums, since we had fairly similar tastes(although I am more into the more alternative and punk side of things). The onl

I find it hard to believe that no one here would give up the mother/father of their children, or maybe their first love, or soul-mate, for their music collection. So it's love over your Blue Monday 12"?

This is an easy question to answer for me. I am single so I wouldn't have to chose between my significant other and my music collection. However, IF I was attached I would give up my music collection. I would have to agree with Grunch ~ it's just music.
