VH1 Classic shark jumping?

2 weekends ago, they played the movie "Rock Star". I don't want to see movies, I want to see videos.

I am surprised it took them this long to muddle this station by playing movies. I want my MTV! (the way it use to be you know with videos)

I think it's inevitable. I read somewhere that they may start showing "vintage" music television programming soon like Remote Control, Pop Up Video, Storytellers and Unplugged shows. We'll see...

Problem is that when you have people watching videos, they're only guaranteed to watch a video they're interested in for the next 3-4 minutes. Then you might lose them. Hence MTV and VH1 evolving as they have... for good bad or otherwise.
No offense, but hasn't VH1 been showing movies for like 10 years at least? I know they showed videos longer than MTV did, but I don't think it's a shocking revelation that it's no no longer what it was like when it was created in the mid-80s.

It was a surprise to me since it was the first time I saw Vh1 Classic(not plain 'ol VH1) playing a movie. I've been watching movies off and on on VH-1 since like, 96? I remember seeing the ABBA movie.
Oh, VH1 CLASSIC. For some reason that escaped me when I read the title. I'm sorry. Yes, that is disturbing. I thought the whole point of VH1 classic was that they would be showing music, while old VH1 does whatever crap it was doing. So, is this channel going to degrade to another VH1, and then will they create yet another channel for videos, and the whole thing can start over again? It can be called "VH1 Classic, no, really, we mean it this time"

Only slightly better. I still think that soon VH-1 will become as sleazy as MTV.

I've never seen VH1 classic(although i'd like to). But over the past few years, regular VH1 has kind of been stooping down to MTV's level. What ever happened to pop-up-video. It came, stayed for several years. And now it's faded into obscurity. I loved that show. But at least some of VH1's shows has to do with music. But I've thought of way VH1 could improve themselves. They should show a show that MTV never should have cancelled. BEAVIS AND BUTT-HEAD

Oh, great. That's what they need to do--ruin it like they've ruined MTV, MTV2 and VH1.

How about dumping "The Alternative" and just running an old "120 Minutes" in it's entirety
