Thompson Twins " Remixes & Rarities" 2cd set

Perhaps I'm being pedantic, but "under $10 on Amazon" is not quite the same as "you can get a used copy for a little over $10". :)

Maybe 3rd party seller isn't the right term; but it's new for $10.84. Just not from Amazon. I'm sure someone here knows the ins and out of why they are able to sell so much cheaper than Amazon, but I always/usually wait for the other sellers to show up. Still new CDs and I've never had a problem. But thanks, I learned a new word.....pedantic. I'm going to try and use it tomorrow at work......

I've been editing the list of "vinyl only" Thompson Twins songs/mixes, so that it reflects songs/mixes that are released on CD or digitally. Anything that was on my original list that is now available either on CD or digitally is highlighted in red text.
Digital Singles from Thompson Twins' Warner Bros. releases have been added to U.S. iTunes and U.S. Amazon Downloads (as well as other digital outlets worldwide).

U.S. iTunes recently added the following digital bundles:
Sugar Daddy (now includes Shep Pettibone's Big Daddy Dub and the Velvet Rail Dub)
Bombers In The Sky (includes album version of "Bombers" with the end of "Queen Of The U.S.A." at the beginning of the track...not any of the single edits)
Come Inside
Come Inside / The Saint
The Saint
Groove On (Eliminates Rev. T's Single Remix from the U.S. CD Maxi Single, but now includes Classic Groove Mix)
Play With Me (Jane)
Play With Me (Jane) / The Saint
(U.S. Amazon added all but Sugar Daddy - as of December 9, 2014.)

Listening to this collection in my car today and adding a comment as I am realizing what an absolute amazing Thompson Twin track "Long Goodbye" is, It is certainly an underrated classic-- quickly dismissed by me in the past.
"Long Goodbye" could easily have passed as being taken from Into the Gap sessions.

Yes Neil-- It totally flew under the radar for me--- When these were released I was not to crazy for "Close to the bone" and "Get that Love" so it was passed by. I have never seen the Long Goodbye single in a shop ever.. so that did not help the case.

I've got it since release almost on 7" and still have it. They showed the video i think on a UK Saturday morning kids TV programme and i recorded it on VHS. Repeated plays is most probably how i got into it

It's funny reading the last few comments about "Long Goodbye" because my experience of the song is much the same. I bought "Close To The Bone" in 1987, and I really liked "Get That Love" and "Bush Baby" but nothing else really left a big impression. About 10yrs ago when I started collecting 80's CD-Singles, I found the "Long Goodbye" CD and bought it mostly because it was the only place (at the time) that had the full-length version of "Hold Me Now" on it. However, when I heard the extended version of "Long Goodbye" I absolutely LOVED it! I think it's such a meandering tune by design that it lends itself beautifully to an extended mix, allowing each element to have it's own time in the spotlight. And now, whenever I want to hear the song, without hesitation I put on this mix rather than the album version. I was glad to see it included in the new "Remixes And Rarities" release, knowing that many more would finally discover the gem that it is.
