[:)]What do you like to read? Who are some of your favourite authors? I'll start...

I like to read Sci-Fi/Fantasy--more Fantasy though. Fiction and also Memoirs.

In no particular order, these are some of my favourite authors:

-DAVE EGGERS (OK...I lied..he is my absolute favourite, therefore, top of the list)
-David Sedaris
-Piers Anthony
-David Eddings
-George R.R. Martin (I am reading the Song of Fire and Ice series...cannot wait for the next book to come out in July)
-Augusten Burroughs (Runnin With Scissors is in production!!)
-Douglas Adams

I love to see what everyone else is reading...and YES, I will be on that midnight line for my copy of J.K. Rowling's next H.P. book[:D]

Phillyidol- I read the vampire chronicles in High School...I used to love it, but then I just became tired of the way Ms. Rice can describe a curtain for an entire chapter[xx(]

I think the most Sci-Fi I got has been Gibson.

I love Fantasy for the

Don't bother, Rooskygirl. It's just a self-help book with Buddhist undertones, meant to help people live in the present, without guilt over the past or anxiety over the future. It goes well with my doing yoga.

A Natural History of the Senses by Diane Ackerman. The Hearing part should appeal to all here of course, but there's also great essays on Smell, Touch, Taste, Vision and Synesthesia.

I'm still chugging away in my 1335 page Europe: A History by Norman Davies. It's taken me FOREVER. I really dig history, so it's ok.

Simultaneously (I often read 2 or 3 books at once), I'm reading Bushwhacked by Molly Ivins.

I am a little behind the times - I am currently reading the DaVinci Code. So far so good! Worth the hype.
My next book on the agenda is The purpose - driven life: what on earth am I here for.
