I learned to swim early on at the local YMCA. Their program had different levels like: Polliwog, Minnow, Fish, Flying Fish. Am I remembering this correctly anyone? Then swam competitively as a kid, but I wasn't very good.

yes,
I swim. Not with great technique, but I enjoy it. backstroke is the most fun. I kind of like just hanging out in the water the most, treading, or even just hanging by the sides, mostly submerged and watching others.
I have no idea how I learned. P

I swim, but clumsily. My sister and I were both water phobic and learned late. I think I was 7 or 8 when I took lessons. It was important to my dad that we both learned to swim because he was such a sailing fanatic at the time and took us on the boat many

I taught myself to swim when I was five and my technique has not improved one jot since then; a walrus has a better swimming technique than me! [:D]

I have no desire to learn how to swim. We don't have fins and gills for a reason. We are LAND mammals. The way evolution intended.
