odd jobs

Postby manekineko » Sun May 15, 2005 2:59 am

What are some jobs that you've had over the years? Were any of them strange or unusual? I'd like to know what kind of work you're willing to do for money. My jobs (and work locations) have been all over the map since I had my first babysitting job at age twelve.

In no particular order:
human resources
teaching assistant (for special ed.)
tutor
reader for the blind
bus driver
driving instructor
administrative assistant
store manager
campaign assistant for a non-profit organization
financial services (401k)
retail
figure model (for art classes)
taxi driver
light industrial assembly and quality control
waitress
customer service rep (telephone sales)
balloon arranging and delivery

Kinney Shoes salesman
Grave digger (just the finisher; the backhoe dug most of it)
Grocery store cashier
Mobile DJ

I worked as a dj at a country station for about 3 years - hated country, learned to like it. It was one of those classic country stations that played all the old stuff.
Moved to Boston & I handed out flyers in Harvard Square, awful, awful job. Did outr

I've only had 3 jobs; none of them were unusual but, of those 3, the neatest one was my first. I pumped gas at Montgomery Wards right out of high school (1975) for 2 years & I loved it.

The people I worked with (including 2 women) were fantastic. I mad
