Okay, there are some songs I'm seeking. Many are not uncommon but I just haven't wanted to spring for entire albums where I only want one track.

At any rate, let me list a few songs I'm looking for and I'll follow up by listing some of the NW stuff I have that I'd be happy to share (though sadly none of it is really that obscure...)

ME WANTEE:

PETER GABRIEL- Games Without Frontiers, Mercy Street
HUGO LARGO- Second Skin
VOICE FARM- Sleep
ALIEN SEX FIEND- Camel, Camel
ALPHAVILLE- Forever Young
WHEN IN ROME- The Promise
THE NORMAL- TV OD
A FLOCK OF SEAGULLS- Wishing (7"/radio edit--short version)
TALKING HEADS- Naive Melody (This Must Be the Place)
BRAIN ENO- The Lion Sleeps Tonight
anything from the "RED SNERTZ" compilation
anything by THE PLASTICS
any b-sides or rarities by THE VAPORS

...er, I'm sure I can think of other things, and will in time.

I have and am HAPPY TO SHARE lots of stuff...much of it pretty typical...Cure, Siouxsie, Kraftwerk, Tenpole Tudor, early Hunters and Collectors, Cabaret Voltaire, Chrome, DEVO (I have LOTS of DEVO), Boomtown Rats, Shriekback, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Yello ("Solid Pleasure" album), lots of Eno, krautrock stuff, B-52s, Cocteau Twins, The Residents, The two Vapors albums, "Dark Continent" and "Call of the West"....there's more, though some of it needs to be transferred from vinyl/cassette...plus I have lots of "Greatest Hits" and assorted tracks and compilations.

Hit me up, yo.

Alright..

I do believe I can handle both of the Peter Gabriel songs... Though I better check to make sure.

Yep, I can.

And I can handle the Flock of Seagulls as well.

However, these are WMA's rather that MP3. Is that a problem?

er...I don't think so. I'm not sure about the difference. Can I burn WMAs? I know I've seen that file designation before but I'm not all that tech-savvy.

Anything you need off my list? Or anything yer looking for?

To everyone: I also have a huge collection of rockabilly, garage rock, punk, old pre-war stuff, obscure electronic composers, moog albums, no-wave, noise, etc. I'm open to requests.

However, I don't wanna bring the heat down on this fine fine site. Is there a concern about that happening?

Yeah they'll burn. The program you use has to convert the MP3's, so it should have no problem. Unless you are going straight into something like iPod, but most of them play WMA's as well.

I'll trade ya for some DEVO, as soon as I remember what DEVO it was I was looking for. Not thinking too clearly this late at night. This getting old sucks.

Right, gonna give this YouSendIt thing a shot.

I started to hook into SoulSeek once and stopped for some reason. For one thing, I'm clueless about bit torrent downloads, etc. Maybe I was afraid of adware or something. Or you had to use a credit card (which I refuse to own). Can't remember.

Is it cool to use? Are there individual mp3s or zipped files there or is it all this torrent jazz? I'll check into it, see if I can suss how it works. Thanks.

Yeah, the FOSG that I have is the album version. Dunno if there is a difference.

The two Gabriels are on their way. Lemme know if they decide to show up.

Damn... I just found that 8 ball. Had to throw that in there for the hell of it.

I can promise you a gold star next to the name of Hani in the Book of Eternally Blessed and a place at the right hand of the Supreme Godhead!

Or some songs or something.

Soulseek is one of the simplese file sharing apps you can use. its free, adware/spyware free, and has a great community of file traders. Just go to the link I gave you, install it, pick a random user name, pick some of your own files to share (otherwise people will ban you if youre not sharing) and start searching. Most functions are accessible through the right-click menu, making it easy to use. the best part about soulseek IMHO is the Download Entire Folder option, which makes it really easy to get full albums.

I personally pay the $5 minimum every month to get "downloading privileges" and all that means is that my requests get bumped up in other people's queues so my downloads start up faster. I have been using Soulseek almost exclusively for years and have rarely had trouble finding what I want.
