<br>Although being ugly and teased may build your awareness about the knocks of real life, it can also crush a child. And I could never sit by when there is an answer. I really don't want my kids thinking like I do about their past.
Teach your kids NEVER to tease people!

Also a good point. I can only imagine how hard it is to be a parent and know that one's child is being teased. Kids can be evil. And this, in my mind, is why it would be futile to resort to surgery in order to stop the teasing. If they stop teasing her about her nose, then they would tease her about her hair, or her butt . . . or about getting a nose job.

I totally agree w/ hex here. Kids sure can be mean, and if it's not the nose, then it'll be something else. I also agree that it would be tough for a parent to sit by and watch their kid get teased about something to the point where they'd come home crying everyday.
p.s. I have a large nose, which I rather like, but I guess it's not big enough to have had any teasing about it back in the day.[:I]
