Allstate SUCKS !

Postby phillyidol » Sun Jul 27, 2008 10:53 am

I got a call from my agent today. Allstate is DROPPING ALL home owners policies. All, everywhere. I was very polite and just asked why and she said they took such a hit with all the problems in the last few years that they can't cover homes anymore. Then she said she could recommend a sister company but that is when I told her how much I hate allstate and I was not surprised at all that they are doing bad. They will still cover cars (don't use them) and condo's.
Here are 2 reasons why I hate them but there are more.
1- I had just bought my house. I closed on it and went to my new house to start work before we could move in. I decided to replace the windows and on one day, I replaced a few but could not finish so I put wood up in the space so nothing could come in. As I am in the house I get a call from an agent saying my policy is being canceled. This is after 1 day of coverage. The reason? An agent passed by and said the house was abandoned! I told the lady tell him to pass by again and I will wave at him, I am changing the windows. Then I yelled for a while at her boss for the whole situation and for being so stupid.
2- An agent called me to ask some questions about my current insurance. When I answered he said he did not believe my answers. I went crazy on him and went into his office to find him. The supervisor hid him and just kept saying sorry. I am giving a short version but trust me this guy needed the scare because he was a total jerk on the phone.

I believe that any company that hires complete jerks should fold. Fuck you Allstate!

On another note, I got stuck in Coney Island for several hours Friday night. Well, sort of. We were coming back from Delaware late Friday afternoon and got stuck on the Belt Parkway for hours because the Mill Basin Drawbridge was stuck in the open position.

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

You live in L.I.?
Funny but Friday night I was looking to go to Coney but had nobody to go with.
They are going to replace that bridge thank God with a permanent one that is not a draw bridge.

I will offer some friendly advice, in the future be sure to keep a
pad and pencil in your car. When you see that road sign, you will
then be prepared to do as it advises. Trust me, you'll save plenty
of time and grief. Jeesh, some people really need to learn the hard way.

This is what happens when everyone thinks they don't need to
obey the law. At least one motorist needs to do it, or there
will be problems for all. The I-35W was not enough to straighten
everyone up? Always follow the road signs, it's the law.

Thanks abacab. Thought I was missing something. Well...I didn't pick up on it but I wasn't missing it.
It was a bad situation in that we were basically at a standstill for hours. We did pass the Coney Island Ave exit but there were so many opting to go that way that it was really just as bad. We were hoping to get to the next exit and make our way down to Emmons Avenue which would also have been slow. Thankfully, they got the bridge back into the down position so we were able to continue on.

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

Had Allstate for 10 years (2 cars) and never had a claim but yet the last 3 years I had them my rates went up 50%. I asked why and they said it was due to the fact that I lived near Youngstown Ohio which had a high theft rate. I didn't live in Youngstown...just near it.

Dropped them and they kept trying to get me back until I told them to exclude me from their mailing lists.

I say if you don't have any insurance claims in a year you should get 25% back. That seems fair.
