Thats not true. I have caught MANY and all but one were taken far away and let go. But I was tired one day and did not feel like shlepping all the way to get rid of one. So...... I scared the crap out of him. I screamed at him and shook the cage. When I let him out in my yard he ran so fast and must have told his buddies because I did not see one all summer long.

Philly, was that a squirrel or one of the neighborhood kids?

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

What kind of bait did you put in that trap? I have a few of these little bastards in my backyard that need to find a new home

Isn't that how Larry Fortensky got liz Taylor?

PS I know of some restaurants in Garden Grove that would be VERY interested in getting ahold of that varmint.

Too late. In New York State you can only do two things with a captured squirrel: re-release it onto your property or put him down. I went with the sensible choice.

You have to do something with it after you put it down.

I wanted to use a nail gun but they start at around $200 at Home Depot. Then I thought I'd stick a syringe in him full of ammonia or something but couldn't find a place to buy one. I figured tying the open end of a bag to my car's exhaust pipe with him in it would've been too tricky. I did want to do the hammer slap wearing a thick pair of work gloves but I was afraid I would've lost him taking him out of the cage.

In the end I just dropped the whole trap in a big bucket of water for a few minutes. Hell, I'm just glad I saved the $625 Orkin quoted to do the job. The trap cost $30 at Home Deeps and I could use it over and over again.
