What do you guys listen to on late Night AM Talk Radio, if you do at all ?

For years, I listened to Art Bell. When I first heard him back in 1992, he used to talk about politics and current events most of the time, and I loved it. I lived overseas for much of the early 90s, and when I returned back to the States, I found his show and he'd transitioned into more of his new age, paranormal, space age stuff that was super cool. Then, things got weird or him (and if you ever listened to Art Bell in the late 90s and early 00's, you know what I'm referring to), and George Nori (sp?) just didn't cut it for me.

However, I LOVE political talk radio. The problem is, the dial seems to be filled with predominantly right-wing, rightist, conservative, whatever-you-want-to-call-it talk show hosts that drive me nuts. I love listening to political analysis, and I actually don't mind if it's on the Right, as long as it isn't trying to club you over the head. I learn a LOT from it all. But this is what fills the AM dial: Tony Snow, Laura Ingraham, Rolley Jame (sp?), Charlie Jones (who isn't that bad), etc. If any of you listen to late-night AM Talk Radio, what can you recommend ? I live in the Southwest, but AM radio picks up frequencies from far and wide. I was curious what are your guys' opinions and suggestions? Thanks![:)]

Ugh, I have to listen to that kind of crap at work all day long, so I never tune in.

One of the local hosts here is a fairly smart guy who ran for governor some years ago. If he agrees philosophically with a caller, he will let them blather on without regard to the facts, even though he knows better himself.

I would rather listen to my iPod!

Believe it or not, there is a bastion of eurudite liberal and progressive talk radio on the AM dial (and the web) despite the right wingers constant trumpeting of its impending demise since its inception two years ago... (yeah.. sure, Dream On)

The others run the gamut ranging from overly wishy washy (Al Franken) to undeservingly labeled and pidgeon holed (Springer)

Funny, my mother in law was talking about listening to him tonight at dinner. Honestly, my eyes kind of glaze over when she talks about her late night AM talk radio. I don't know one other person who listens to this. Art Bell married some teenage Philipino girl or something? Who cares? I'd rather talk about things, not...people [:(] Never even heard of the guy.

I have no use for talk radio. Too many Americans that hate other Americans for just being Americans...believe it or not, I'm making perfect sense.

I too like am talk radio. Jim Rome (sports) cracks me up. I give Michael Medved a listen on occasion.

I love Jim Rome. Phil Hendrie at night is funny although i rarely here him.

I despise talk radio. I don't have that much time when I can just listen to something and when I can I want music.

I agree with Thom Hartmann being the best on Air America (Is he the guy on at 7?). If so, he's really the ONLY host worth listening to.

Rhandi Rhodes is the liberal Sean Hannity. She does the mirror image version of his show every day: Take a simple news story, use comedy to turn it into some bizarre piece of fiction and then open the phones. I used to go back and forth between their shows and it's amazing how similar they are.

An they can't manage get through a 3 hour show without mentioning Bill Clinton! Laura Ingrham is one of the worst, her obsession with the Clinton's is comical. For entertainment I prefer to listen to Michael Savage, a lunatic (but at least he attacks his own on occasion). Larry Elder out of LA is OK (he's pretty conservative, but at least he's a Libertarian).

Anyway I lesten to Ken Corack and Ray Fossy call A's games on A's Radio network, Also some KNBR and Giants games. Golden State SUCKS so I tune out.
