Or a jockette... er... female athlete? I suspect that there's an inverse correlation between new-waviness and athleticism, but maybe I'm wrong. The only athletic new wavers I knew did preppy sports like lacrosse, field hockey or crew.
The high point of my athletic career was winning the state doubles bowling championship with my then best friend in 6th grade. It was a handicapped affair. My season average was about 135; my friends was about 140. We both got hot at the state tournament and bowled three games each in the 160's. I've never bowled so well since.
In high school I did no sports but liked to ski and backpack. In college I played intramural volleyball, basketball and flag football, but was average at best at each.
So, if you've tasted the thrill of victory and/or the agony of defeat on the field, court, diamond, pool, or whatever- share your tales of athletic triumph or humiliation here.
