Cortinas

I take it from what I have read about these guys that they are either New Romantics,or Mods? Just not sure.Their name however sounds very Mod like The Lambrettas, speaking of which The Lambrettas did do a song from off of their Beat Boys In The Jet Age album called Cortina, which would make me in turn, think that they would be a mod band. Anyone have a clue?

Cortinas are a Bristol band with an average age of 16. Chose the name Cortinas coz it sounded cheap and nasty !! Originally an r'n'b band but embraced the punk sound gruffing up the vocals and revving up the guitars. Two essential singles - Fascist Dicta

Okay thanks for letting me know about these guys. From the way that you described them being that young and all,it sounds like they were more or less along the lines of Billy Idol's old band Generation X? As they were also very young at that time too.Thank
