THE LAST are one of the greatest L.A. pop/punk bands of all time!
Led by Joe Nolte, they are still very much alive (although overshadowed by lesser bands, to be honest).
"Weekend Girl", contrary to the website, was released on the album "Painting Smiles

The LAST were great. As much as I like L.A. Explosion, I still think Painting Smiles On A Dead Man was even better. I too converted my LP to CD-R a while back.
