This song is killing me

this song is definitely not "lawn chairs" by ODW. The sound is kinda in the ballpark, but its not lawn chairs, and I doubt it's ODW.

I also would love to know what this is...one day visiting this board, after I listened to the clip, I had the damn thing stuck in my head all day, and I would hum or sing phrases out. Peeps were giving me funny looks that day, I tell ya. Thanks Pop80s [;)]

This sounds an awful like Annabella Lwin the lead singer of Bow Wow Wow. listen to the mp3 and imagine her singing it. There are similar qualities to her voice when she sings "Oh what went wrong"

Thanks to all for the efforts to find this great song, I've ripped from the old tape the complete fracment I have of this, I think this is a male singer, I can send you a more quality mp3 (1.76Mb) of this song, please send me an e-mail to pop80s@terra.es if you want this.

best regards

Hi. Any chance this is The Sparks? I wasn't a big fan- so I'm not real familiar with all of their material- but this reminds me of the songs of theirs I do remember...

I've contacted with official Sparks homepage and they are sure this is not a Sparks or related band song.

And the quest goes on.....;) I've given up googling every single line I can decipher. Now Im waiting for someone else.

I def know OMD didn't make it but it sounds like their early "Dazzle Ship" Stuff.

I've revised all the songs from the old dj session tape with this wanted song, and I think this tape is exactly from 1988:

Side A
01.MORY KANTE - YEKE YEKE 1987
02.?
03.YELLO- OH YEAH 1985
04.?
05.I START COUNTING-LOSE HIM 1987
06.CCCP-ORIENT EXPRESS 1988
07.VELODROME-GLASFABRIK 1988
08.?
09.?
10.OKAY-EDUCATION 1988

Side B

01.A SPLIT SECOND – MAMBO WITCH 1988
02.TRAXX - MALFUNCTION 1988
03.MEGAMIX SUBWAY RECORDS
04.RAINBIRDS-BOY ON THE BEACH 1988
05.SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES-THE KILLING JAR 1988
06.PETER MURPHY-BLIND SUBLIME (EXTENDED) 1988
07.OKAY-WHY? BOYS! 1988 (B-SIDE EDUCATION)1988
08.GOODBYE MR.MACKENZIE-GREEN TURN RED (B-SIDE)1988
09.THE WANTED SONG?

All the songs are 12"single, probably the wanted song is a 12"single too, probably a B-side.
