What I've been up to lately

Postby skinnytie » Sun Jan 29, 2006 11:42 am

I haven't been as active on the board here as I would normally like, but I've been helping on a side project I'd like to tell you about (and I hope it doesn't come off as cheap spam). I've been helping to develop a new internet radio station called Total Access Radio. We're hoping to cater to every single taste out there, from classical to today's pop charts, and everything inbetween. I have been given the title "station manager" (can you believe that?) and also will be dj'ing about 3 times a week, with more new wave on my list than anything else (what else is new?). If you guys ever want to tune in, here's our addy:

http://www.new-tradition.com/music.ivnu

Just click on the links to tune in from there. You'll also be able to see our schedules as well (I'll be using my name, Gregg, for the broadcasts, though I was tempted to use "skinnytie" for awhile). Our kickoff broadcast is on Wed. Feb. 1 at 8 pm, so feel free to listen in (on this particular broadcast, I'll be doing half hour slots every half hour, and I'm sticking to songs with the word "radio" in the title. I have a few picked out already, but am always open to suggestions if you have any).

Thanks for the forum, gang! I'll try not to be too much of a stranger around these parts from here on in. [:)]

Gregg's first half hour show tonight sounded great!
He even gave a shout out to the NW Outpost!

Thanks for the support, you guys! It was really a blast getting this whole thing organized, licensed and on the air! Schwenko even won himself a CD! Way to go, Mr. S!

Don't tell anyone, but I did that a couple of times when we doing our test runs. It's not a pretty sight. Just our little secret, okay? [:I]

The contest was to email into the station when you heard a certain song played that did not fit in with the rest of the theme I was doing that night (all songs had the word "radio" in the title). Third email in would win. The song played was "Sunny Afternoon" by the Kinks (I know, not new wave, but not everything I played was), so Schwenko won a copy of "Face to Face", the Kinks album that that song was from. [:)]
