Favourite recent album by a NW artist

During the last two years,many NW bands have edited new records and I would like to know which one do you consider to be the best one.

I am in between chosing Playing the angel or Waiting for...
An ex- friend of mine thinks that the Simple Minds albums was the best of them all.

Wow. This is hard. I love the recent albums be Duran Duran, A-Ha, Depeche Mode and New Order. I think I'll have to go with New Order, though.

I hate The Cure's self-titled turd of 2005. *cries*

My pick would have to be Minimum Maximum by Kraftwerk, but hey, I'm biased.

I Sorry to say I have to agree with you birdmadgirl. the CD does make a lovely coaster though. I just got DM's "Playing the Angel" this week. It hasn't been out of my CD player yet.

I voted for Depeche Mode. It would have been a much tougher decision if Echo and the Bunnymen's "Siberia' was one of the choices. Great cd.

Whoever voted for New Order should be banned. I voted for Simple Minds, but only because Terry Hall's latest CD wasn't on the list.

I cast a second vote for Billy Idol's "Devil's Playground," though the latest Howard Jones, Tears for Fears and DD's "Astronaut" are all excellent.

Out Of The Choices, I will say New Order.

I have to say that the Echo & The Bunnymen - Siberia cd is Excellent.

Like you Mechi, I was torn between Waiting...and Playing...but I ultimately went with N/O's just because as a whole, I think it's more singable. The melodies stick with you afterwards for a little longer I think. The choice would have been tougher if Pet Shop Boys' Release was on the list too. All in all, I'm glad my favs from the 80's are still my favs today, having never stopped making music.
