I was watching vh1 and a almost lost my lunch! Hall and Oats singing Adult Education. The song is ok but did you see these two dance? It was the dance everyone did but it looked so embarassing! It was like the male version of Molly Ringwald in the breakfast club when they were all dancing. How about your scariest dance experience? Hall and oats ? As new wavers? Jeeze!

I certainly would not put Hall & Oates in the New Wave category. But, I still liked them a lot back in the day! [:D]

Hall and Oats NOT New Wave.
They were top 40, and SOME New Wave made it into the Top 40, but the blurry line and any similarity ends there.

I loved that scene in the Breakfast Club... It was so Random.

I like Hall & Oats. Their 80s stuff only...Their 70s stuff I really dont like.

This is enough to make me Hurl. In my humble opinion these guys are very much old wave, nothing new about them. Yes that had some top 40 success during the new wave era but I just don't see it.

Have to agree philware. I used to harp on my college roomate relentlessly about his F&*KING Hall & Oates and Air Supply. Then he gets a girlfriend for awhile who likes Billy Squire!!! AAAAAARRGH!!!!!

Looking at the "adult education" video, it looks like Oates was left in the video because they felt sorry for him, and he didn't fit in.

That Molly Ringwald dance was sooooo goofy. I never got her. Never.

I saw her in person (she shopped at this vintage shop I used to shop at in Hoboken)and she's such a plain jane.

C'mon - did VH-1 actually refer to Hall & Oates as New Wave? There was a time when they tried to jump on the bandwagon just like Linda Ronstadt, Rod Stewart, Alice Cooper and many others but I don't think VH-1 considers H&O New Wave. I think phillyidol
