Fantastic FC. It's been hard keeping up with all the postings but both your credentials and Torchomatic's get my attention!

Thanks for the tracks. I was late to finding torchomatic, so I'm always interested in what people found there.

Thanks FC for posting the Tunes. I think Gangway - My Girl & Me is their best song. That is a cd single I won`t part with. Kind Regards [;)]

Toys in the Attic is a tough one to find: I've only located it on a comp titled "War Give You The Freedom To Rock". Not sure if they released anything else.

Thanks for all the positive feedback peep. [8D]

As for the bands mentioned:

Gangway - The PSB were huge fans of theirs and were surprised that they didn't make it. "Come Back as a Dog" is easily one of the best singles of the 90s. All their material has been released on CD in both Denmark and Japan but good luck in finding it..

Kau Tau - A fantastic single that somehow didn't get picked up by the majors. As far as I know, their only release. What a bloody waste.

The Time Dance - See Above

Power - These had it all - airplay on Radio 1 (the only national pop radio station in the UK) record of the fortnight in Smash Hits (most popular pop mag in the UK at the time) these guys couldn't fail. So how did they? A change of management at Arista saw that no new records were being promoted and goodbye Power. One member now lives in New Zealand and the other is head of A&R at London Records.

Hey! Elastica - Heavily promoted by Virgin, this lead single (with video - rare for a new band) missed the charts. The album's fun and worth checking out.

Academy - I have nearly everyone of their singles and each one is a stone cold classic. Sometimes, the general public can get it SO wrong.

I will probably be putting some more out but it looks like being next week at the earliest.

Thanks for the songs man! I was wondering if you could share some more Academy tracks. I've got quite a few already, but with this band one can never have enough! [8D]

I'm particularily looking for:

Keep on Pushing
Turn it Up
You are in my System (7")
Heaven Waits
Paint Me Blue
Tonight (12")
Stand Up (12")

If you (or anybody else) have any of these and would share them that would be the single most awesomest (sic) thing ever!

Thanks, Frank.

The Academy song is a killer. Would love to hear more from them.
I agree with PSB who were surprised that Gangway didn't make it.
They should have gone way up the charts with this smashing song. It's a shame they did not.

ATT Brambo: Which Academy tracks have you got? Did they release an LP as I can't find mention of one.

I don't think Academy ever released an LP.

I have these tracks by them:

On the Beach (7")
On the Beach (12")
Stranded (7")
Stranded (12")
You are in my System (Bernhard Mix)
Keep Quiet
White Heat (from which single is this one?)
Tonight (7")
Stand Up (7")

I'll share them on the hub.

You're welcome! [:)]

ATT Brambo: Your list practically mirrors mine. The only song that's different is "Heaven" which is a nice pop track with a slight jazz tinge.

Wish MikeP would delete or transfer all the deleted posts on this forum simply because it would make things look tidier.
