New Wave Cover Bands

Postby avcool4u » Tue Jun 29, 2004 11:24 pm

Hi,
I'd like to Introduce myself officially to this board.
I just joined this morning. I never knew this place existed
until today. I was searching around for cool links/pages to
add to our band's MISC page. I think I'll add a link to here.
My name is Tobes (Greg) and I'm a member of a new band in
the Buffalo area of NY.
We're called ROAR - the Resurrection Of Alternative Retro.
New wave mostly, and some 80's pop. If you're located anywhere
near Buffalo, I'd like to personally invite you to one of our shows,
make that, all of our shows. We're just getting started and can use the support. We're trying to bring back the most exciting music ever. There are a lot of bands out there who claim to be doing New Wave, and a lot of it falls into the pop category. We're slightly guilty of this, but remain focused on adding new material that's NEW WAVE.
You can visit our website here:
http://www.roar84.com

Any input is extremely valuable to us.
Thanks all.
See you on the message boards.
-Tobes

Cool. Aside from my electronic act, I also play in a punk/rock/new wave cover band. It's an all girl band called Rocket Tits. www.rockettits.com

We try to concentrate on the punk and new wave, we do Never Let Me Down, Jet Boy, Mongoloid, New York Ci

Sounds like fun stuff. I'll have to swing over on one of my Rochester trips. Do you have anyone to take promo photos of the band? I've done a couple gigs in the East Village for buddies and would love to volunteer for the price of entry.

Anyone in Orange County who wants to start a new wave/power pop/punk covers band?

If you want a singer who is fat and ugly, then I'm your man!

Hello,
I'm Eddie from San Antonio (first post, just found this place). There's a local 80's cover band in town called The Greys that do pretty well in town (and make a LOT of money) . . . they are trying to write original music and are having trouble g

If anything, we'd be in danger of being a Depeche Mode tribute band, but I'll try to prevent the full swing. We've got so much music to do yet that we surely won't get lost with one band. We'll be adding stuff fom B52's, Echo & The Bunnymen, Pretenders,

You think we sound 80's, Pikeprof? I don't know anymore, it's all one big blur, lol. We strive for "timeless".

Sadly, Canada doesn't seem to like us much. Industry-wise, that is. The fans are amazing. We have a deal with a label in San Francisco a

Troy08 - I grew up in Queens and still have a few friends there.
So, it's definitely something we'd consider. Just need the right venue and the promotion capabilities.
It's definitely a long term goal of mine
