I've always thought Duran Duran's "Secret Oktober" (Union of the Snake)was the best b-side I'd ever heard. The Pet Shop Boys "You Know Where You Went Wrong" (It's a Sin) is great, too.

INXS has some AMAZING b-sides that I fear will never be released on CD - Phantim Of The Opera, The Harbour, Begotten, Mechanical, I'm Over You, Six Knots, Space Shuttle, Sweet As Sin and a few others.

I always liked the Police's "Landlord" - the B-side of "Message in a Bottle". Fun little punked-out rave-up that's hard to imaging fitting on any of their albums.

Some of my favorites of his were his B's (particularly the sad ballad "So Quiet" and "Monkey Business"). I used to see this disc all over the place, now it's apparently out of print and scAmazon.com has used copies for $25+ (I think I bought mine new for about $12 - it was an import but it was considered "midline"). Hope you can find it! Check some of your smaller, more independent record stores. I haven't seen it lately but then I haven't looked for it ...

Well, newer wave, but equally as funny. The Kaiser Chiefs fan-club Christmas single for 2005 - the b-side was blank - no grooves cut into the vinyl and track title is "I Predict Some Quiet"
