Blur vs Oasis

I know for most newavers who live through that musically unbarrable decade of the 90's this topic may be of not much interest... but for those who lived during the 90's (those who commited suicied before 1990 or where in a vegitiative coma from 1990-2000 this may not apply) But for those who have an interest who did you like more Blue or Oasis?


Who did you like more Blur (who kind of remind you Madness or XTC)or Oasis (who falsely claim to be the musical decendents of the Jam)?

I'll bite. I prefer Oasis.

During the 90's I heard way more Oasis songs on the radio than Blur songs (I think the only Blur song I've ever heard was that "Girls And Boys" song). But, while I liked the 5 or 6 Oasis songs I heard on the radio (on KROQ

I think there's good material from both, but I prefer Blur, if only for the Parklife album. Any new wave fan who hasn't heard "Girls and Boys" needs to hear it today - Duran Duran bassline and XTC guitars! This definitely pre-dates all the retro new wave

Oasis but they remind me more of the Beatles than The Jam. Blur doesn't sound like the ska of Madness at all.

Blur by far. Oasis seemed to burn out way too quickly and the pure pretentiousness of the band was unbearable. How anyone can even begin to compare them to the legendary Beatles is beyond me. Blur was far more talented and has a far more impressive track

I was comparing the bands, I think Blur is far more talented and had many more "great" songs than Oasis's more main stream endeavors. Blur was more "alternative" and Oasis was more "Pop". People may wish to compare Oasis to the Beatles all they like and O
