NW - Most Female-Led All Male Bands Genre?

Postby guyinsf » Mon Feb 20, 2006 5:23 pm

Doesn't it seem that new wave embraced that cool concept of a sexy female fronting an otherwise all male band more than any other genre of music? Let's see if all of us can pitch in and name as many bands with a female lead, from obvious to the totally obscure. Remember that I'm not talking about all female bands or bands with 3 boys and 2 girls and the 2 girls are background singers who play triangle. It would be interesting to see how many we end up with.

Ahhh the Nuns!! I performed on stage with them a few years ago in NYC. I was interviewing Mistress Jennifer for a goth column I had at the time and she invited me to perform with her. I had a blast!

This got me thinking... were there any predominantly female bands with male frontmen? And no, Robert Palmer doesn't count.
