1st 45: i had to go into a shop and buy multiple copies of "mull of kintyre" for some people [V][V][V]
1st LP: war of the worlds/jeff wayne
Last LP: whiter shade of pale/giorgio moroder
1st Cassette: in the city/the jam
last cassette: the last cassette i bought new was an album by "heavy stereo", but the last second-hand one i bought was "cost of loving" by the style council
1st New Wave 45: hanging on the telephone/blondie
1st New Wave LP: the b-52's/the b-52's
1st "12" inch single: town called malice/the jam
1st CD: ramsey lewis trio/best of...

1st 45 was "the Monster Mash"

1st rock lp I bought on my own was Billy Joel "52nd Street". Yeah, I know, Billy Joel, but I still listen to it fondly as it reminds me of being 13 and geeky as hell.

1st new wave lp was the Police debut.

The first lp I got... : "Frampton Comes Alive" given away at a Phoenix Roadrunners vs. Minnesota Fighting Saints Hockey game, the Fighting Saints had the Carlson Brothers [}:)](?) (Hanson Brothers from Slap Shot fame) and they held true to their name, Gordie Gallant, their "enforcer" came over the bench into the stands after someone poured a beer on him. I was in the 7th or 8th row and remember running up the aisle with that record clutched in my hands[:0] (I was only 12, scared for my life! I never listened to it, ever! I gave it to my sister, or who knows, I might have gone down a completely different musical path![;)] )

It was nearly 8 years later I bought a cassette tape of some Devo live with "Be Stiff" and the first lp was Devo's Q. Are We Not Men[8D]. I didn't even own a record or tape when I went to college!

not wanting to sound like a show off but my first Lp was Kraftwerk 'computer world' & first 7" was 'quiet life' by the god like Japan!
i had been given LPs prior to this as presents from parents but they are too naff for words!!!
