you two should just get a room...mrpenguin, email tiger and ignore siouxmoux or email siouxmoux and ignore tiger or ignore both of them and go get Limewire no-spy version...better yet, just post a thread asking for In Tua Nua and House of Love...somebody will have it.

Siouxmoux...Unless you have some financial stake in Soulseek and then we'll all join up and help could you shut the fuck up already about how much you hate the hub? Please?

I think we get it.

FYI that Mr. Penguin is firmly situated on the Hub now. I have to thank him for some very cool CCCP I grabbed last night. I hope more people take advantage of the Hub. It's really very easy and non-exclusive. Again, email hub_invite@hotmail.com. The owner simply asks that you've been seen around here for a minimal number of posts for security reasons. You need 1gig minimum. It doesn't allow the sharing of movies, software or porn...it's truly a refuge for the music man.

That so-call hub is good is dead since No one is ever in there. There are DC 1000's other hubs to choose from and p2p Networks to choose from

Users
eDonkey2K 3,599,182
FastTrack 3,065,985
Gnutella 2,219,539
Overnet 690,565
MP2P 252,893
Filetopia 3,567

Don't Forget the Hamachi community grows to 785,000 users.

In a sentence, you have perfectly summed up Soulseek...785,000 users, at least 50% of whom share shit and will attempt to d/l my entire 200 gig within 5 minutes of when I say goodnight to somebody in this hemisphere and go to bed, leaving the thing up so a friend of mine can get something...

I come back at 9 the next morning and Ollie in Oslo is taking my Z: directory while sharing one 10 gig file of Gilgli in Norwegian....and has 3000 people queued waiting to get it.

The hub is a club, Soulseek is a mob...take your pick...I'll put up with tiger's 20 gig of Human League to get something good from somebody I know any day.

So like I said sioux, either start a new thread or PLEASE shut the fuck up...here's an idea..."Hub: Good or Shit"...maybe do a poll...have the choices as "It's good" or "Shut the fuck up Sioux". Mrpenguin was asking for help with the hub, not asking for your editorial opinion...I've always found you to be a good guy but geez, what the fuck is your issue with the hub????

If you hate the thing, just walk away, it's not a personal insult to you unless you don't like tiger, which is understandable, but leave the rest of us out of it...once again...please...

Earlier this week, I was listening to some CDRs full of relatively rare and obscure New Wave tracks that I had gotten from a buddy several years ago. One of my favorite tracks from those discs is the extended version of "Don't Say That's Just for White Boys" by Way of the West.

Thursday morning while getting ready for work, I logged onto the Hub to see if I could find any other Way of the West tracks. Between three or four different users, I was able to download the following Way of the West tracks in less than 20 minutes:

City for Lovers (7" Version)
City for Lovers (12" Version)
Don't Say That's Just for White Boys (7" Version)
Countdown
Drum (Social Mix)
Feel the Steel
My Own Front Door
Prove It
See You Shake
The Cool Set
The Friend

Within half an hour, I had them burned on CDR and was listening to them on the way to work.

Try doing that on Soulseek or eMule.

My testimonial: I was looking for some gag videos that my kids could laugh at. I wanted some Nena Cherry, Pebbles, The Pussycat Dolls, Martika, Lisa Stansfield, Apollonia, and Nia Peeples. And there they were, right in TomFin's folders. Soulseek...sheeyah!

This coming from a guy that has a William Shatner video in his share folder!

And I do NOT have any Martika or Nia Peeples videos in my share folder! (At least not yet...[:D])

I was just backtracking through NWO messageboard posts and found my old topic.

You know, I did sound like a total idiot the way I asked for help, and asking for specific tracks in that same post. But you know what, if I'm asking for technical help, it's because I don't know what I'm doing. I'm still having trouble going Active on the hub on a consistent basis on my Mac.

This ain't a discussion forum for programmers where I'm top posting where I should be bottom posting or vice versa or whatever the netiquette is supposed to be. Give me a break, okay? I'd rather not revisit the lunchroom from the early 80s, just the music.
